Biography:
Gavyn Diviney, a Longview Native, is a family nurse practitioner delivering exceptional primary care with an emphasis on preventive health and holistic wellness. She is excited to join the Diagnostic Clinic of Longview, working alongside respected physician Dr. Julie Lundy in Family Medicine, and she is thrilled to serve the communities of Longview and East Texas. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Texas at Tyler in 2020. While working as a nurse in the CCU and PACU, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on family nurse practitioner at the University of Texas at Arlington in 2024.
Her commitment to community service began in high school with mission trips through her church. It continued in nursing school through partnerships with local organizations like Buckner, the Highway 80 Rescue Mission, and the City of Longview’s Homeless Resource Day. These experiences remain integral to her practice, as she strives to educate patients on maintaining their health and ensure that special populations have access to vital resources.
Gavyn’s career in primary care was inspired by her love for building relationships and providing continuity of care. Her interest in healthcare began in high school, driven by her fascination with pharmacology and physical movement from her sports background. While in college, her focus on health, wellness, and nutrition deepened, motivating her to help others achieve a healthy balance in life. As a nurse practitioner, she values the opportunity to form lasting connections with patients, addressing a wide range of conditions while fostering trust and open communication.
Gavyn began her healthcare journey with a pharmacy technician certification during her senior year of high school, working in this role in Longview while pursuing her education. Gavyn has also completed an advanced musculoskeletal injection course and holds a certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine in wellness coaching, with plans to pursue a certification in nutrition coaching.
With a passion for preventive care, Gavyn believes in utilizing screening tools to detect issues early and enhance patients’ “health span.” Her approach to care is holistic, focusing on comprehensive patient education and fostering an open, comfortable environment where patients feel heard and understood. She builds trust through strong communication, ensuring patients know the “why” behind their treatment plans and feel empowered in their healthcare decisions.
Gavyn enjoys early morning gym sessions, cooking, and spending time with her husband, Keelan, her best friend and partner in life. They love rooting for the Cowboys on football Sundays and cherishing moments with family, friends, and their “miniature” Australian shepherd, Capone. As a native of the area, Gavyn is passionate about building lasting relationships with her patients and improving their quality of life through education and accessible care.
