Medicare Center
Senior adults have special healthcare needs - and maintaining good health through regular checkups, preventive screenings and care for chronic conditions is even more important as we age. Routine medical care can help you stay healthy and active and enjoy good quality life.
Today's Medicare patients are facing greater challenges in locating doctors who will assume and maintain their care. The Diagnostic Clinic Medicare Center is designed to meet the needs of our rapidly growing Medicare community, who care about their health and well-being.
The Medicare Center sees patients who are:
- 65 years of older
- Managing a chronic disability
- Having a hard time finding a primary care doctor
The Medicare Center provides convenient, accessible health care for senior adults. New patients can often be seen within a short time frame for an initial consultation, and established patients enjoy easy access to appointment times that coordinate with your active lifestyle.
Getting Started
The Medicare Center of Diagnostic Clinic of Longview is open to all Medicare recipients who have Medicare Part B or a Medicare replacement policy as a primary insurance. Your initial appointment will be with an internal medicine physician, a nurse practitioner or physician assistant depending on your requested appointment time and the clinic schedule.
During this appointment, our staff will talk with you to learn your medical history, discuss concerns and give you a baseline medical exam. This information will be used to determine medical needs and your treatment plan. As an established patient in our clinic, you may see a physician, nurse practitioner or physician assistant, with your treatment plan supervised by an internal medicine physician. We offer routine wellness check-ups, preventive screenings, acute care and chronic disease management.
Appointments
The Medicare Center is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Same-day appointments are often available for established patients for sick visits or other acute needs.
Appointment requests and medication refill requests should also be made during regular office hours. The Medicare Center uses electronic prescribing for medication and will coordinate with your pharmacy for electronic refills of all your medication.
Hospitalization
Our clinic is affiliated with both Longview Regional Medical Center and Christus Good Shepherd for our patients' emergency care or inpatient needs. Each Medicare Center patient is provided with a clinic ID card which should be presented at the emergency room upon admittance.
If a patient needs to be admitted to the hospital, one of our Diagnostic Clinic of Longview hospitalist partners will assume inpatient care. These doctors are able to access your electronic medical records during your stay and return them to the Medicare Center upon your release.
After discharge, a follow-up visit will be scheduled for you at the Medicare Center and our clinic providers will resume your outpatient medical care.
