DCOL Center for Clinical Research

A Lasting Legacy of Advancing Medicine
DCOL Center for Clinical Research has been working with pharmaceutical and biotech companies since 2005 and has conducted over 200 Phase II-IV clinical trials in a wide range of therapeutic areas.

Clinical research is vital in the advancement of medicines and medical breakthroughs. DCOL Center for Clinical Research is committed to helping companies find new and/or better ways to treat various diseases. Our research staff recruits volunteers to participate in our clinical trials. These volunteers are people who have specific medical conditions in the research being conducted. Our clinical research volunteers are considered "Medical Heroes" because, without them, new and better medicines and/or treatments would not be possible. We have participated in areas of research including COPD, type 2 diabetes, HIV and cholesterol-lowering treatment.

Benefits of Participating in a Clinical Research Trial
Clinical research trials can be a great opportunity for people to receive medical services at no out-of-pocket cost or insurance cost. In most clinical trials, volunteers are compensated for their time and travel commitments. This is very helpful for those patients who can’t afford their medications or ongoing care.

Many volunteers find that participation in clinical trials helps them have a better understanding of their medical condition and their potential treatment options. Often, patients feel they get even more attention and oversight of their care while they are in a clinical trial.

Participation in a clinical research trial is completely voluntary and participants are always made aware of potential risks, benefits and what procedures are required before entering a study. Volunteers may also withdraw from a study at any time without any penalty or negative consequence.

Patients may also feel that they are helping by contributing to a greater good when they participate in a clinical trial. Participating in a clinical study contributes to medical knowledge. The results of these studies can make a difference in the care of future patients by providing information about the benefits and risks of therapeutic, preventative or diagnostic products or interventions.
