Biography:

Colin Efurd is a family nurse practitioner who provides primary care with a focus on prioritizing preventive care to catch diagnoses early and manage chronic conditions, such as diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol, thereby enhancing patients’ quality of life. Colin earned her Bachelor of Science in Community Health from Texas A&M University in 2015 and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Tyler in 2017. In 2023, she graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington. She is thrilled to join the Diagnostic Clinic of Longview, where she will work alongside respected physician Dr. Adam McDaniel.

Colin’s passion for healthcare was sparked early and solidified during a project at a skilled nursing facility in College Station, working with memory care patients. Inspired by her nursing director, Virginia Hardaway-George, she pursued a career as a family nurse practitioner, drawn to the diversity of primary care. Her commitment to lifelong learning drives her to provide innovative, compassionate care.

She has experience working with patients of all ages, from infants to the elderly. In addition, specializes in managing chronic diseases, mental health, weight loss, and complex wound care. Her patient care approach emphasizes education and collaboration, ensuring patients feel safe and involved in their treatment plans. During her time at Texas A&M, she participated in a semester-long project designing a program for college-aged students newly diagnosed with type I diabetes, reflecting her commitment to patient education.

She is a member of the Piney Woods Advanced Practice Nurses Association and the Texas Nurse Practitioners Association. As a native Texan, Colin is excited to offer compassionate care to the communities of Gilmer and East Texas. Colin has a strong history of community involvement, having participated in Aggie Alliance, Future Aggie Nurses, and The Big Event, the nation’s largest student-run service project, during her time at Texas A&M.

Outside of work, Colin enjoys family time with her husband, Brantly, and their two children, attending church, traveling, and raising cattle. They share their home with their 8-year-old Australian shepherd, Pepper. Colin’s dedication to her family, community, and patients makes her a trusted healthcare provider in Gilmer and East Texas.
