Biography:
Chelsey’s passion for healthcare began at the age of 16 when she helped care for her grandfather after open-heart surgery. This experience—along with supporting her grandmother and mother through her grandfather’s recovery and later her father’s total knee replacement—sparked a deep commitment to helping others heal. Growing up with a mother who worked as an LVN in home health and nursing homes further strengthened Chelsey’s desire to pursue a career in nursing.
During her undergraduate years, Chelsey volunteered at the East Texas Food Bank in Tyler, participated in community health fairs with UT Tyler, and supported Meals on Wheels. These early experiences in service and healthcare reinforced her calling to make a meaningful impact in her community.
After earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Tyler, Chelsey began her nursing career at Good Shepherd Medical Center. There, she witnessed firsthand the challenges patients face in accessing primary care, often arriving at the hospital with preventable complications from chronic conditions like diabetes and hypertension. This inspired her to become a Nurse Practitioner and be part of the solution. She went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Adult Geriatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner from Walden University.
With a background in family medicine, medical-surgical units, emergency care, and pre-operative services, Chelsey brings a comprehensive approach to patient care. She is known for her compassionate, nonjudgmental listening and her commitment to developing thoughtful, individualized treatment plans.
Outside of her clinical work, Chelsey lives on a ranch with her husband, daughter, and three dogs. She enjoys the simplicity of country life, lending a hand with farm tasks, and spending time baking for her family.
